Meet Michael Hixon Growing up in Southern California with my parents, two brothers and a station wagon, I guess you would have referred to the Hixon family as a camping family. Always on the go up and down the California coast experiencing new campgrounds along the way. Then Easter weekend in 1964 the Hixon family set out on a new adventure, a camping trip on the Colorado River in Parker AZ. That weekend my parents purchased a vacant lot and soon after, added a mobile home and shed to the property. The station wagon only went one way after that weekend to the Colorado River, the Hixon's new vacation home. The rest is history and a life filled with wonderful memories. My father's true passion was fishing so we did a lot of fishing, the River, Lake Havasu, and the irrigation canals on the indian reservation. Our father always referred to this area as "God's Country". My brothers and I all learned to water ski and became quite good, as this was our passion. When it was too cold to water ski, the dirt bikes came out as our winter sport. I have shared the River life with my children, and now my grandchildren, you see once you get the River in your blood, I believe it becomes hereditary. Life here has so much to offer, fresh air, blue skies, beautiful sunsets, fishing, boating, watersports, off road activities, hiking, golf, or gambling in one of Laughlin, Nevada's riverfront casinos (just across the river). My wife Kathy and I, with our two dogs Laci and Molly have enjoyed living in the Bullhead City area full time since 1993. I would love to help you and your family start building your own memories. Finding an experienced, reliable real estate agent whom you like and trust is the first step in locating your new home. Here is an approach to finding the right agent.
Call or stop by a real estate office and ask to speak with the manager. Describe the type of home you are looking for. The manager can refer you to an agent who knows that market very well. You might also use weekend "open houses" as opportunities to look for a real estate agent, as well as a new home. It is really a matter of chemistry! If you meet someone who is knowledgeable and with whom you feel comfortable, call that person!
Once you establish a strong working relationship with a real estate agent, your agent can show you a number of homes for sale, even if they are listed with other companies. Often the agent can show you a property as soon as it is placed on the market. Many of the best homes never even make it to the weekend classified section of the newspaper!
